Welcome to the world of Wet ink Wisdom ...I was told as soon as I could hold a crayon, I was doodling up a storm. Around the age of 8, my oldest brother started calling me Inky. And the nickname stuck. You can spot me on the highway easily with my INKY license plates.
By the way, the cartoon to the left is "Inky" ... one of many 'toons I have drawn on how I perceive myself.
Turning the clock back to 1985 - 1989, I studied graphic design at Northern State College in Aberdeen, South Dakota and Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska.
I took off for 10 years living in Massachusetts, Texas, Nebraska and Kansas before moving back to the prairie of South Dakota. In 1999, I went back to college full time. May 2001, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Selected Studies with an emphasis in criminal justice from Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota.
You may be wondering why I studied true crime. I thought if I couldn't become a cartoonist, I wanted to follow in Ann Rule's footsteps and become the next best selling true crime writer. While I still love following a good court case and reading true crime, my true passion is obviously my cartoons.
I am very thankful to my family, friends, coworkers and my mentors for providing me with enough love, laughter, friendship and support to last for the rest of my life.
Always remember kindness matters most in life. People will forever remember the one act of kindness you have given them.
For those in my world, who know how much I appreciate your thoughtful kindness throughout my years, I am so very blessed. ~asp
